The Centro de Estudios Andaluces Foundation (CENTRA), in collaboration with the Blas Infante Foundation, has made the eight volumes currently in its Blas Infante Library collection available for free download. The collection presents critical editions of Blas Infante’s original texts alongside specialist studies, with the aim of making his thought accessible to contemporary readers and placing it in its political, social and cultural context.
The foundations said the downloads provide public access to works on historic Andalusian regionalism and Infante’s political, cultural, educational and social thought. The initiative also makes publications available that had been out of print or difficult to find. All eight volumes can be downloaded as complete PDFs and are also available in print.
Two titles have been added to the books that were already available online: *Motamid, último rey de Sevilla* and *Peregrinaciones. La narración de Blas Infante de su viaje a la tumba de Al Motamid*. They are the seventh and eighth volumes in the collection.
The latest title published this year presents a transcription of around 100 handwritten pages in which Infante recounts his 1924 journey to Agmat, near Marrakech, to visit the tomb of the figure known as the “poet king.” The critical edition includes a foreword by Javier Delmás Infante, Blas Infante’s grandson and president of the Blas Infante Foundation, and a transcription and introductory study by Manuel Hijano del Río, a professor at the University of Málaga. The book documents a little-known episode in Infante’s life and offers material for understanding the spiritual dimension of his Andalusian ideal.
The books address subjects including Andalusian cultural and social renewal, autonomy and federalism, education, international cooperation, the thought of Joaquín Costa, and the history and identity of Andalusia. The full PDFs are available in the Blas Infante Library section of CENTRA’s publications catalogue. *Ideal Andaluz*, *La verdad sobre el complot de Tablada y el estado libre de Andalucía* and *La Dictadura Pedagógica* are also available as free e-books.
