The Andalusian Government’s Council of Government was briefed on the 2026 Andalusian Flamenco Clubs Circuit, an annual programme run by the Andalusian Flamenco Institute in collaboration with provincial flamenco club federations. This year’s programme features 225 performances across the eight provinces: 181 singing recitals, 31 dance performances and 13 guitar performances, involving more than 470 artists.

The regional government has allocated €250,000 to the programme, 20% more than it invested in 2019. The initiative is intended to support flamenco in peñas, or flamenco clubs, which the government describes as important settings for preserving, transmitting and sharing the art. The programme also gives effect to the Flamenco Law, which recognises peñas as non-profit cultural organisations that foster and preserve flamenco, and aligns with Andalusia’s General Strategic Plan for Flamenco.

The 2026 circuit will take place in a selection of the 329 federated peñas. Each province’s share of performances is determined proportionally by the number of its clubs. The Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions invited applications to take part, and its approved catalogue of artists provided the basis for the provincial federations’ programmes.

Performances began in August, with most scheduled between September and November. Andalusia’s Flamenco Day is observed on November 16. This year, the provincial federations have also included tributes and recognitions: Cádiz is honouring María Vargas; Granada, Antonio Campos; Jaén is presenting the “A la verde Oliva” series; and Málaga is honouring Luis Soler. The programme also recognises Juan Peña “El Lebrijano” in Seville, marking 50 years since his classic “Persecución”; Ramón Arroyo Parazuelo in Huelva; Pepe Habichuela in Almería; and Antonio González del Moral in Córdoba.
