Construction of the new health centre in Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, is expected to begin in late October or early November, the Junta de Andalucía announced on September 29, 2026. The works contract has been signed with Constructora San José, said Antonio Sanz, the Junta’s first vice-president and councillor for the Presidency, Health and Emergencies.
The project is budgeted at nearly €15 million and has a construction period of 21 months. It is funded by European Union European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funds under the 2021–2027 framework.
The new facility will cover 7,600 square metres, four times the size of the current centre. It will have an emergency service, 44 new consultation rooms, two multipurpose consultation rooms and 10 paediatric consultation rooms. Planned services include rehabilitation, minor surgery, dentistry, basic radiology and mental health care. The centre will also have 61 parking spaces, storage areas, changing rooms and technical rooms.
Sanz said the project was the result of collaboration and coordinated work with the town council. The building’s design uses an Andalusian-style courtyard as its central structural feature, with adjoining open areas intended for waiting, access and interaction. The design is based on sustainability and efficiency principles.
