La Pequeña Cuba, a Cuban-themed food and cultural festival, is scheduled to run in La Cala de Mijas from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November. It was postponed from its original October dates because of rain.
The event is organised by Asociación Cubanos Unidos in collaboration with Mijas Town Hall. It is due to take place in the car park beside Carrefour Express, behind the main Boulevard, and entry is free. Organisers plan food and handicraft stalls, live music and DJ sets. The advertised entertainment hours are noon to midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and until 1am on Friday and Saturday.
A classic car gathering is also scheduled for Sunday 15 November. Registration is due at the car park from 10am to 11.30am, followed by a route through La Cala starting at noon. The cars are expected to return for a public display from 1pm.
