Marbella council has proposed a temporary exit from the A-7 at La Víbora to address the closure of the Golden Beach access road in the Las Chapas district. The plan would connect the motorway to Avenida Víbora Baja, providing an alternative route for people travelling from the area towards the coast road network.

The existing access road has been closed for more than a month. More than 2,000 homes rely on it daily, according to the town hall’s account. The council says there are no alternative routes, and has cited traffic and road-safety concerns arising from the closure.

At the end of September, the town hall formally asked the central government to reopen the road temporarily. The discovery report says the council had not received a response by the time it published its proposal. The new plan is an alternative to that request, not a confirmed change to the motorway layout.

The council developed its proposal after an analysis involving the Local Police and the municipal traffic department. It would create an exit from the A-7 at La Víbora; it would not provide an entry onto the motorway.

The proposed exit would include a 95-metre deceleration lane, with a maximum speed limit of 40 kilometres per hour. Vehicles leaving the motorway would join Avenida Víbora Baja through a roundabout, where traffic exiting the A-7 would have priority over vehicles entering the roundabout.

The proposal has been officially presented, but the supplied information does not say whether the central government has approved it, who would carry out the work or when any change could be made. For residents and other road users in the Golden Beach area, the closure therefore remains the immediate situation; the suggested exit would depend on the relevant authorities’ next steps.
