Málaga Metro, the concessionaire company of the Andalusian regional government, announced a special service plan for the Málaga Feria, taking place from August 15 to 22, 2026, to accommodate travel during one of the city’s largest annual celebrations.

On the night of Friday, August 14, into Saturday, August 15, service will run until 2:30 a.m. Trains will run every five minutes from 8 p.m. until closing to serve people attending the traditional opening address and fireworks. On the other Feria days, the metro will operate until 1:30 a.m.

The special schedule does not change the usual service start times. On weekdays, service will begin at 6:30 a.m.; on public holidays and on Saturdays and Sundays, it will begin at 7 a.m., as it does throughout the year.

Metro staff will increase surveillance on trains and at stations in anticipation of higher passenger numbers and to help maintain normal service during periods of peak demand. The extended hours add more than 13 hours of service compared with a regular week.

The operator said it also adjusts service for other high-demand events, including Holy Week, sports fixtures drawing large crowds, Unicaja basketball games and major city road races.
