The council is replacing four window units in a multi-use classroom at CEIP Miguel Hernández in San Pedro Alcántara. The work is taking place in the school’s Frasquita Larrea building as part of Marbella’s school-conservation plan.
The council says the existing frames and windows had become outdated and no longer met the needs of the space. New fittings are intended to improve insulation against heat, cold and noise, as well as reduce leaks from outside and improve energy efficiency.
The classroom is used for different activities by pupils and other people at the school. Better insulation should help keep its indoor temperature more stable, according to the council. No completion date or cost was provided in the supplied information.
Deputy mayor for San Pedro Alcántara Javier García said the replacement follows a request from the school. The council presents it as part of a wider programme of maintenance and improvements at CEIP Miguel Hernández, rather than a standalone renovation.
Other works cited by the council include renovating toilets in the dining-hall pavilion and building a ramp to improve access and movement between the school’s playgrounds. A handrail was installed on the new ramp, and the council also reports replacing paving in several parts of the site.
The list of completed work also includes removing an unused built-in fountain, checking and returning toilets to service, and constructing a plinth for a new electricity meter. The council says the interventions are intended to improve the school’s accessibility, upkeep and everyday use.
The window replacement is limited to the multi-use classroom in the Frasquita Larrea module. The supplied announcement does not give further details about the installation schedule or whether the classroom’s activities will be affected while the work is under way.
