Mijas is planning free Halloween celebrations in its three main centres on Saturday, 31 October. The programme will run at venues in Mijas Pueblo, La Cala and Las Lagunas, with activities including themed parades, storytelling, magic, music and games.
The council describes the events as suitable for families and says visitors are welcome to come in costume. Each centre will have a designated “quiet hour” for people with sensory sensitivities, although the timings differ by location.
In Mijas Pueblo, the “Alice in Nightmareland” theme will take over Plaza Virgen de la Peña from 16:00 to 22:00. The quiet hour is scheduled for 16:00–17:00, followed by storytelling, magic, a parade at 19:00 and a second parade at 22:00. DJ and speaker sessions and a survival game are also on the programme.
La Cala’s “Enchanted Night” will be held at La Butibamba Park from 17:00 to 23:00. Its quiet hour runs from 17:00 to 18:00. The schedule then includes music, storytelling, magic, a survival game and parades at 19:00 and 22:00.
In Las Lagunas, “Scary Tales” will be based at Cortijo Don Elías and the fairground precinct, from 18:00 until midnight. The quiet hour is 18:00–19:00, followed by a parade, music, storytelling, magic and a survival game. The council says the main attraction will be a horror passage at Cortijo Don Elías, open continuously from 17:00 to 23:00.
The events are designed to give residents and visitors options across Mijas rather than concentrating the programme in one centre. Those planning to attend should check the venue and start time for their chosen activity; the quiet-hour periods are the first scheduled slots at each location.
