Estepona is providing free buses to its two cemeteries on 30 and 31 October and 1 November, giving residents a transport option during the busy All Saints’ period. The dates fall on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the supplied report on the town hall’s arrangements.
Buses will make eight trips from the departure point beside the old cemetery on Avenida Andalucía each day, with eight return journeys. The timetable is the same on all three days: outbound services leave at 9am, 10am, 11am, noon and 1pm, then at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. Return trips are scheduled for 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm, followed by 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
The route follows urban bus line L1 along Avenida Andalucía as far as the Acuarela stationery shop, then passes the front of the new town hall and continues uphill to the Santo Cristo de la Veracruz cemetery. The report says the service is intended to provide access to both municipal cemeteries.
The free bus does not operate on 29 October or 2 November, even though the cemeteries will be open on those dates. Visitors should plan around the three-day bus schedule if they need transport between the town and cemetery sites.
Opening hours at both cemeteries will be 9am to 8pm on 29 and 30 October and 2 November. On 31 October and 1 November, they will stay open until 9pm.
The town hall has also carried out improvement work at both cemeteries and on their access routes as part of its annual All Saints’ preparations, the report says. All Saints’ Day is observed on 1 November, when families in Spain traditionally visit graves and often leave fresh flowers.
