On August 4, 2026, the Andalusian Regional Government announced a tender worth €34,736,109 for the first phase of developing the Majarabique logistics area. The site covers 57 hectares of the 193 hectares planned for the logistics hub, located between Seville and La Rinconada, near major rail corridors and between the northern section of the planned SE-35 and the SE-40 ring road.
The Regional Ministry of Public Works and Mobility is overseeing the tender through the Andalusian Public Ports Agency (APPA). Regional Minister Mario Muñoz-Atanet said the tender marked progress after 14 years of administrative procedures to add the hub to the Andalusia Logistics Network. He said the regional government had worked to resolve administrative and planning matters for the project.
The contract will launch the first of three planned phases. The tender covers nearly 300,000 square metres of logistics land designed to meet the needs of large operators, as well as 90,000 square metres reserved for transport-related infrastructure and services. The work will include utilities for water supply, sanitation, electricity and telecommunications, along with improvements to the Cimbreño stream. The regional government will also advance the widening of the A-8003 regional road from the A-8009.
The Andalusia Logistics Network has received nearly €248 million in regional government investment to date, including spending on land purchases, urbanisation and buildings. Five logistics areas of regional interest are operational, covering a total of 290 hectares: the Seville and Málaga freight transport centres, the Bay of Algeciras and Córdoba logistics areas, and the first phase of the Antequera Logistics Area. The 102-hectare Antequera phase has been operating since 2024.
Interested companies can submit bids through the regional government’s Sirec electronic procurement platform until September 25, 2026. The estimated construction period is 24 months.
