The Andalusian regional government, through Inturjoven, is increasing accommodation capacity for students and teachers to 386 places for the 2026–2027 academic year, 114 more than in the previous year. The Resident Program is adding hostels in Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Algeciras, bringing the number of participating centres from six to ten. The expansion is focused on cities with significant populations of university students and students in intermediate- and advanced-level vocational training.

Rocío Díaz, the regional minister for Housing, Youth and Territorial Planning, said the additional places are intended to address the needs of people who move to another city to study. She said the new capacity would provide students and teachers with more affordable accommodation options in the cities where they pursue their academic activities.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, the program operated at hostels in Almería, Córdoba, Huelva, Jerez de la Frontera, Marbella and Seville, with 272 places. The four new locations add a total of 114 places. Díaz said the new centres were selected in response to local educational activity and to make use of existing facilities for people who need to live away from their usual home during the academic year.

The Resident Program is for students aged 16 to 30 and practising teachers whose academic work takes place outside their place of residence. Hostels offer air-conditioned single or double rooms with a private bathroom, desk and Wi-Fi, as well as dining, cleaning, laundry and study-room services. The standard arrangement includes full board from Monday to Friday, and accommodation with breakfast on weekends. In Marbella, accommodation with breakfast is provided throughout the week.

Inturjoven also continues its Coliving program for people needing longer stays without committing to an entire academic year. It is intended for students and teachers travelling temporarily for training, as well as professionals who are relocating or need accommodation while working remotely for a period. Special rates apply to stays of at least 15 days, either consecutive or accumulated over a calendar year. Accommodation includes a single or double room, cleaning and Wi-Fi. Both programs also offer adapted rooms.
