Estepona Town Hall is inviting artists to compete to create seven murals inside the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel. Each commission is linked to an activity represented at the centre: chess, dance, theatre, painting, literature, the library or music.
The competition is open to visual artists, mural painters, art students and groups aged over 18. Entrants may apply in more than one category, but an artist or group can win only one prize. Applicants must register their submissions with the town hall by 10am on Friday, 20 November 2026.
Each entry must include a portfolio and a dossier with a colour sketch, a photomontage showing the proposed mural in place, an explanation of the concept, and details of the techniques and materials. A jury will assess artistic quality, originality, suitability for the location, feasibility and fit with the assigned theme.
The €10,000 total prize fund is divided among the seven categories. Dance and music carry €1,650 each; painting and the library, €1,200 each; and chess, theatre and literature, €900 each. These are gross amounts and must cover the mural’s design and execution. The winning works are scheduled to be completed from 14 to 18 December. Competition rules and details of the spaces are available in the town hall’s announcement.
