The Official Gazette of the Government of Andalusia published the call for the 41st Andalusia Journalism Awards on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Eligible work must have been published or broadcast by media outlets between October 17, 2025, and October 19, 2026. Entries may be submitted through November 10, inclusive, a period of 15 working days from publication of the call.
Applicants must send their applications and nominated work to the Vice-Ministry of the Presidency of the Department of the Presidency, Health and Emergencies, following the procedure set out in the call. Submission through the Andalusian Government’s Unified Electronic Registry is preferred. Applicants must use the required application form and, where applicable, the work-team declaration form.
The awards are offered in six categories: print media, radio, television, photojournalism, infographics and the international projection of Andalusia. The same regulatory order also establishes the Andalusia Award for Career Achievement in Journalism. The awards recognize journalistic work whose originality or quality has best helped portray Andalusia through coverage of its cultural, social and economic realities and values.
Individuals, teams and legal entities may enter. Each work may be submitted in only one category, and each applicant may submit no more than two projects in each category. For the international projection award, entries must be journalistic work of any genre or format that has been carried by foreign media outlets.
The career achievement award is not decided through competitive selection. Jury members may put forward a candidate with a reasoned proposal, which must receive majority support from the jury. The award recognizes a respected journalism or communications professional whose career has helped defend and promote Andalusia.
Each award carries €10,000, and special mentions may also be given. The jury will be chaired by Vice-Minister of the Presidency Tomás Burgos Gallego. Its members are Canal Sur news journalist Carmen Millán Gutiérrez; El Español’s Andalusia correspondent Inmaculada León Castro; Onda Cero Andalucía news director Juan José Fontán Ysasi; journalist, entrepreneur and content creator Teresa Puig Calatayud; ABC photojournalist Raúl Doblado Barrera; and Andalusian Government Director General of Communications Sebastián Torres Haro. Jorge Conde López, head of the government’s Information Planning and Coordination Service, will serve as secretary.
