Marbella residents can apply for a place on a guided caving trip to the Cueva de los Órganos in Mollina, scheduled for Saturday, 20 February 2027. The activity is part of Azulea, a provincial programme of outdoor sports and nature activities.
The route is in the Sierra de la Camorra and is expected to last about four hours. The cave section covers approximately one kilometre, with a difference in elevation of around 100 metres. The programme describes the outing as medium difficulty and recommends it for people aged 14 and over.
Participants will explore underground galleries and chambers, with geological formations including stalactites, stalagmites and columns. The route includes walking and may involve narrow passages; an optional abseil is planned in one area. Qualified monitors will provide technical equipment, including helmets, harnesses and headlamps, as well as a first-aid kit and accident and liability insurance.
Applicants should bring water, clothes that can get dirty, a change of clothes, suitable sports or hiking shoes, a towel and sun cream. The meeting point is Restaurante Cándida in Alameda, rather than at Marbella’s municipal sports office. Travel to the meeting point is not included in the activity registration.
The registration window runs from 20 January to 4 February 2027. Marbella’s municipal information lists nine places for the trip in its activity details, while a separate summary table lists 10; the published figures therefore differ. The council says its Azulea allocation totals 40 places across activities.
Places are free and subject to availability. To apply, participants must be within the activity’s age range and registered with Marbella’s municipal sports activities programme. The council says registration for that programme can be completed through its electronic office. If the places allocated to participating councils are not filled, remaining spaces may be offered more widely, including to the general public, subject to availability.
Azulea activities are funded by the provincial government and allocated among 32 participating municipalities. The programme aims to encourage responsible outdoor recreation and sustainable active tourism. Anyone under 16 taking part without a legal guardian must have prior authorisation.
