Fifteen food and drink businesses from Jaén province are due to take part in the next SUR Wines & Gourmet event, showcasing products marketed under the Degusta Jaén brand. The event is aimed at wine and gourmet-food professionals, who can register free through its website.
The Jaén provincial authority’s brand will be represented by early-harvest extra virgin olive oils, including oils with Jaén Selección awards and organic products. The oils carry the Degusta Jaén Black Label, which the discovery report says is for companies linked to a protected geographical indication or designation of origin.
Other products include chocolates, honey and artisan pastries. Among those named are almond biscuits from Flor de Mágina, based in Albanchez, and honey and chocolates from Apisierra in Pozo Alcón. Apisierra received the Degusta Jaén 2025 award for best company, according to the report.
The showcase will also feature crisps made by hand and fried in olive oil by Productos Paqui, from the Sierra de Segura, alongside jams from Mermeladas Santa Claudia. The company’s signature product is an olive oil jelly.
Wines and vermouths will be part of the programme, with particular attention to wineries producing wines under protected geographical indications, including those in Sierra Sur. Torreperogil’s Papatán vermouth will also be presented; the discovery report describes it as the world’s best vermouth.
The event offers professionals a chance to meet producers and explore products from across Jaén. Registration for the sixth edition is available free via the SUR Wines & Gourmet event website. No event date or venue details were included in the supplied material.
Degusta Jaén brings together 309 businesses and more than 3,500 products, according to the report. It says the initiative supports more than 2,500 permanent direct jobs, which the provincial authority considers part of its work to sustain rural communities. Its other labels are Calidad, Eco and Oro, the latter for shops and restaurants.
